The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has inaugurated an exhibition centre at its headquarters in Dhaka.
The exposition centre holds the name of the late Mosharraf Hossain, a former president of BGMEA, in recognition of his outstanding efforts, which were crucial in the growth of Bangladesh’s ready-made garment industry.
Additionally, Mosharraf Hossain was elected three times as a Member of Parliament from the Feni-3 seat. In the presence of Mosharraf Hossain’s wife Farida Hossain, their two daughters Farah Anjum Bari and Farhana Anjum, and their son-in-laws S. A. Bari and Arif Ibrahim, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan officially opened the ‘Mosharraf Hossain Exhibition Enclave.’
A variety of exhibitions, including the showcasing of clothing, particularly luxurious and inventive clothing made in Bangladesh, product launches, and heritage objects, will take place in the expansive exhibition centre. According to Faruque Hassan, BGMEA is actively involved in the production and promotion of upscale apparel, utilising locally derived fabrics including Khadi, Jamdani, and muslin.
Along with showing Bangladesh’s rich cultural legacy, the Mosharraf Hossain Exhibition Enclave will operate as a focal point for highlighting the innovations, successes, and dedication to sustainable practices of the RMG sector. It will support the branding of Bangladesh and the sector and open up the possibility of exporting clothing that combines Bangladesh’s rich cultural legacy with current trends.
