Benetton group opens its doors to the 88th Annual Congress of the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO) and its participants for a day, on 11th April.
A member of IWTO since 2017, Benetton is the first European fashion company to be associated with the organisation demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and transparency in the supply chain.
IWTO’s Annual Congress brings together wool textile professionals from across the world for three days where networking and knowledge sharing are complemented by a lively social agenda.
Combining Italy’s rich wool heritage with the latest research and developments in wool applications, the conference with the theme “Wool in Excellence,” will be happening from 9 to 12 April in Venice and Treviso.
Speakers will address topics based on sustainability, wool décor and health and wellness.
Till date, Benetton’s hometown of Treviso still boasts of a vibrant woollen and worsted industry with some of Italy’s key spinners, weavers and retailers having been established there since the first half of the 19th century.
It is worth mentioning that Benetton is the torch-bearer of this long tradition with knitwear and wool playing the central part in its overall strategy and identity.
The IWTO conference provides it with an opportunity to strengthen its commitment to sustainability and transparency in the supply chain, actively being part of the discussions on current important issues including recycling, research on yarn quality and traceability within the industry.
Benetton Group is among the best-known fashion companies in the world, having presence in the most important markets with a network of about 5,000 stores.
