
Bangladesh’s apex garment makers’ body, the BGMEA, has called upon the global brands and buyers to adopt strategies that promote mutual growth, including the manufacturers, while moving towards achieving net zero goal.
As per reports, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan, made a call in this regard while speaking at a policy dialogue titled Sweden-Bangladesh Partnership in Renewable Energy within the RMG-sector’, held in Dhaka recently.
The discussion was organised as a part of the initiative called Sustainable Fashion Platform, which aims to strengthen Bangladesh’s global competitiveness and, at the same time, build a sustainable partnership.
Speaking at the event, Faruque called upon the buyers to adopt inclusive strategies that also take the SMEs into the equation to ensure sustainable growth of the entire apparel industry in Bangladesh.
