A busy booth at the previous edition of Texworld Paris
Five months away from the start of the winter event, scheduled from 14 to 17 September 2015, the Texworld Paris selection committee is bursting with excitement. A large number of applications from potential participants has been received compared to previous years, originating from every country with an established textile industry, such as China, India, Pakistan and Turkey, all hoping to expand their market by exporting and confronting increasing competition in the fashion textile industry. Their offerings to European markets are of a very high-quality. Great creativity, some of a very high standard, is evident in their offers, for both women and men. “We are delighted with and encouraged by the exhibitors’ commitment to bring in the best at Texworld. Textile business tycoons are convinced of the importance of creativity and added value, which are as crucial as price. By attending Texworld, their investment will reap a return, and the demands of brands and designers will encourage more and more to develop products jointly with the exhibitors,” stressed Michael Scherpe, CEO of Messe Frankfurt France.
The trade fair selection committee is giving priority to quality over quantity to reinforce the move upmarket. Around 890 exhibitors are expected from countries which are cornerstones of the world textile industry: China, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Turkey, Pakistan and manufacturing nations such as Bangladesh, Egypt and Italy, which will showcase innovations and their new collections for autumn/winter 2016-17. The Indonesian pavilion will host 13 businesses this time, compared to only six companies at its launch. The development of the national pavilion highlights the dynamism of the country’s textile industry and the desire of the weavers and Indonesian Government to strengthen their presence on the European market. Indonesia is striving to become a major player in the textile industry, rivaling China and India. Its exports were worth US $ 13.3 billion in 2014, up from US $ 12.6 billion in 2013, representing an increase of 5.55%.
Indonesian businesses enjoy recognition for the quality of their highly-specialized range of innovative lace, polyesters, man-made fibres such as viscose, and are also highly competitive when it comes to pricing. Four companies – Frans Putratex, Natatex Prima, Excellence and Sinar Continental – will be making their debut, while the remaining nine – Adetex, Daliatex Kusuma, Kewarlam, Hakatex, Intermoda, Gistex, Mayer Indah Indonesia, Sinar Para Taruna – SIPATA, and Tyfountex – have already been in the pavilion or attended Texworld. They are all based in the Bandung area.
Première Vision Paris will run from February 10 to February 12, 2015 at the Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord, Villepinte. The show will feature yarns, fibres, fabrics, leathers, furs, designs, and manufacturing of the accessories and components. During the three days, Première Vision Paris will cater to the fashion industry via 6 different shows and 6 business activities. Last year, about 39 exhibitors showcased their products and designs at the event, and the numbers are expected to be higher this time. Additionally, in February 2014, around 62,000 visitors congregated at Villepinte of which 73 per cent were international visitors.
“Impulse” – the theme for the winter 2015/16 trends at Texworld’s September issue primarily focuses on renewal, portraying the recovery of the textile industry. The relevance of the theme is reflected in a recent study conducted by Jean-François Limantour for first quarter of 2014, which shows that European imports of clothing have increased by 6%, compared with the first quarter of 2013, and have now reached 18,000 million euros.
More than 850 weavers, knitters, embroiderers and accessory designers will be unveiling their new collections for 2015/16 winter clothing at the exhibition, from 15 to 18 September this year. 133 of them are new exhibitors for you to discover, coming from South Korea, China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Turkey, Vietnam, the Ukraine and Sri Lanka and attending the show for the first time.
The concept of the fair has been illustrated using intense colours and artistic references, and has been divided into six themes disclosed in the “Impulse” trend book: Spontaneous Attraction, Brutal Poetization, Innocent Appropriation, Anonymous Quintessence, Abrupt Veins dedicated to Denim, and Fragmented Relics for accessories. The season’s colour palette is inclined towards subtle hues, with subdued liveliness. The increased numbers of new exhibitors for the show is very encouraging. Variety of innovations and creations would be noticed at the fair in different segments of embroidery, and prints as well.
Two Indian companies have been highlighted by the exhibition’s fashion committee for their creativity and innovation. Be dazzled from Kolkata and Tulip Exim from Mumbai will be offering the very best Indian handmade embroideries on panels and finished products. Similarly, sumptuous range of prints on polyester, silk and cotton, denims with power stretch and lovely collections of buttons and ribbons will be showcased for the winter season projecting proximity and creativity to appeal to European customers.

Lectra’s new software cutting solution VectorTechTex FX 100 for industrial fabrics and composite materials
Lectra, the world leader in integrated technological solutions for industries that use soft materials – textiles, leather, industrial fabrics and composites, has released its reliable VectorTechTex FX 100, the new software solution for cutting industrial fabrics and composite materials. The solution which enables professionals to reduce energy consumption by 20 to 30% in comparison to standard cutters, helps companies to cut wide pieces and meet the needs of professionals looking for a broader spectrum of applications.
“The ability to process a wide variety of industrial fabrics with a single and unique cutting solution is now essential to the survival of many companies. By extending the range of possible activities open to them with the VectorTechTex FX 100, these companies will be able to target new markets and, consequently, limit the risks tied to a decrease in volumes,” said Daniel Harari, Lectra CEO.
Adaptable and reliable, VectorTechTex FX 100 is well-suited for short runs, tight production deadlines, with wider cuts extendable up to 2.54 metres in all shapes and sizes, while limiting fabric scrap and optimizing the fabric utilization. The solution also meets rigorous safety measures that professionals using composite materials face. In particular, it integrates a new feature to vacuum away dust produced during cutting, greatly reducing the dispersal of particles which may prove very harmful to operator’s health, as such keeping both the equipment and the environment neat and clean.
Lectra, the world leader in integrated technology solutions that automate, streamline, and accelerate product design, has recently launched the new CLS Auto Leather Cutter, designed to support automotive manufacturers in the optimization of their industrial processes.
Since the economic crisis has hit the automotive market hard, it is becoming more and more important for companies to deploy flexible production models adapted to shorter runs. These require solutions specific to each material, like textile, leather and airbag fabric. For leather, used in automobile seats and interiors, CLS Auto provides a cutting process that is unique in the market. It reduces production costs, increases material savings and maintains flawless quality.
CLS Auto is a unique non-stop production process on a conveyor, managing every stage of the production process: Loading of pre-marked hides, recognition of hide flaws by a high resolution scanner, automatic contour detection, calculation of the actual hide surface, automatic nesting of pattern pieces taking flawed zones into account, cutting, and sorting of pieces for offloading.
Maximum leather savings is achieved through a combination of three integrated tools – HideScan software, a high resolution scanner which automatically identifies hide flaws and contours; AutoNest software that automatically nests pattern pieces, ensuring material savings of 5% to 10% compared to die-cutting systems; and finally, Offload (Lectra’s offloading assistance software), which guides the operators offloading combinations of several cut orders, generates additional material savings of 2% to 5%. With CLS Auto, automotive manufacturers are able to make annual savings running into several thousand Euros.
“CLS Auto, in the current macroeconomic climate has given value-added technologies and solutions that have enabled companies to boost their competitiveness and sustain their sales strategy,” said Daniel Harari, Lectra CEO.
