Workers of weaving units in Anjana, Varachha and Kapodara have refused to operate the power loom, demanding wage hike which will affect the production of unfinished fabrics. Industry is already facing a severe shortage of workers. It is being told that a group of workers gathered at Kapodara industrial estate and demanded an increase in wages. Many weaving units in Kapodara, Anjana and Varachha saw heavy absenteeism in past two days. Industry experts state that weavers have been getting increase in wages regularly, so there is no question of increasing the wages now.
