In June 2023, the cost of women’s hosiery reached US $ 488 per thousand pairs (CIF, US), displaying a decline of 1.50 per cent compared to the previous month.
As per a recent report released by Index Box, the data shows a minor reduction in import prices. The most significant growth rate was observed in July 2022, with a month-on-month increase of 11 per cent.
The zenith of import prices occurred in September 2022, peaking at US $ 640 per thousand pairs. However, the subsequent months from October 2022 to June 2023 witnessed a relatively more subdued import price trend.
Notably, the pricing landscape displayed substantial variations based on the country of origin. Honduras occupied the top spot with the highest price of US $ 789 per thousand pairs, while China offered one of the lowest prices at US $ 417 per thousand pairs.
Examining the period from June 2022 to June 2023, Honduras achieved the most notable price growth of 1.10 per cent, showcasing its upward momentum. Conversely, the other primary suppliers experienced a decline in their respective hosiery prices during this timeframe.
