Mohammad Monirul Islam, the recently appointed Ambassador of Bangladesh, paid a courtesy visit to Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Bakhromjon Aloyev, at the latter’s office recently.
During the meeting, they engaged in discussions regarding the current status, progress, and future directions of the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of advancing bilateral ties with Bangladesh and called upon both nations to take proactive measures in implementing the proposed road map.
He spoke of his productive visit to Bangladesh in May 2023 and expressed optimism about deepening trade and investment cooperation, particularly in the readymade garments and pharmaceutical sectors.
Ambassador Monirul Islam sought the support of the Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister in expanding the existing collaboration between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan across various sectors, including textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, tourism, education, and healthcare.
He also underscored the significance of organising a high-level bilateral visit between the two countries and requested the assistance of the Uzbek Minister in facilitating this important endeavour.
