Global apparel imports by the US has declined both value- and volume-wise during the first two months of 2017. India, Bangladesh, and China followed the negative trends in apparel exports to the US, whereas Vietnam surged both in value and volume terms.
UVR (Unit Value Realization) in this period however remained negative as the US registered 3.43 per cent drop and settled at US $ 2.91 per square metres of fabric equivalent as against US $ 3.01 in the same period last year.

India, Bangladesh, China and Vietnam too noted decrease in UVR value, while Sri Lanka and Pakistan recorded marginal increase during the review period.
