Kidswear imports by USA have reached US $ 1.40 billion in H1 ’22, as per the latest data released by OTEXA.
The country has noted 26.54 per cent Y-o-Y growth in its kidswear sourcing.
The import of kidswear from China, India, Bangladesh and Vietnam has increased significantly and India witnessed the highest growth rate (42.36 per cent) amongst all top shippers.
The kidswear exports from India have been on growth trajectory of late and USA being the largest export destination has given momentum to this growth. The country shipped US $ 246 million worth of kids clothing to the USA in H1 ’22 which is second only to China that shipped
US $ 320 million worth of kidswear to the USA.
It’s worth noting here that, together, India and China constituted over 40.42 per cent of kidswear that USA has imported in H1 ’22.
Vietnam has been reviving its shipment of kids clothing after an unexpected fall noticed in January ’22. The US imports of kidswear from Vietnam reached US $ 210 million in H1 ’22, growing by around 27.30 per cent.
Bangladesh’s shipment to USA in kids clothing experienced a surge of 20 per cent to US $ 153.30 million during the said period.
