Shima Seiki, the Japanese flat knitting technology frontrunner, has formulated its new medium-term management plan, ‘Ever Onward 2017’, to address its business issues and further enhance its corporate value. The company’s vision for the coming decade is that its technology is adopted around the world and becomes the standard for the creation of appealing fashion items. Further, the company envisages that its core competencies create a newly expanding and sustainable business domain as a creative, information-based company that values based on innovative ideas for industries other than fashion.
The company will look at contributing to the development of the fashion industry by promoting its total fashion system and changing how knitting items are produced, creating new markets by tapping the resources from its core business and providing business solutions that contribute to society, and building new business models. Abiding by these principles, the company is looking at registering Net Sales worth US $ 562 million by 2017, up 47 per cent from the sales registered in 2014.
