An increase in the prices of rawhide and salt, a crucial ingredient for rawhide processing, is giving the rawhide traders in Bangladesh, especially those in Dhaka’s trading hub of Lalbagh sleepless nights as they are now apprehending losses.
This is as per reports, which cited the concerned traders in this regard.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, some rawhide traders reportedly maintained they were purchasing rawhides at the Government-fixed price while also opining that sale should be conducted at the same rate.
However, as other costs, including the price of salt, have risen significantly, many of them have now expressed apprehensions they may not be able to afford these expenses this time around.
It may be mentioned here rawhide prices continue to be a bone of contention for the rawhide traders in Bangladesh every year after the Eid with many complaining of getting less than the desired rate.
