The Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Salman F. Rahman, called upon the Bangladeshi expatriates recently to invest in Bangladesh.
Media reports maintained this adding Salman did this during the closing session of a 10-day-long road show on Bangladesh’s economy in San Francisco, in the US.
Initiatives have been taken to reduce problems related to investment of expatriates, reportedly, claimed the Prime Minister’s Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser, even as he, reportedly, added investment was needed to accelerate the progress of the country’s economy.
As per a press note issued in this direction, apart from Salman F. Rahman, Mayor of the state of California Lisa M. Gilmore, Financial Institutions Department Senior Secretary Abdur Rauf Talukder, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Prof. Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam, Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Sirajul Islam, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority’s (BEPA) Executive Chairman Major General Nazrul Islam and BSEC Commissioner Dr. Mizanur Rahman, amongst others, also spoke at the event.
