To help ensure fair prices and quality of rawhides as well as to make sure proper management of the items, the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), which is the implementing agency, is all set to establish a central rawhide storage facility in Savar industrial hub.
Media reports maintained this adding the crucial decision towards the same came during a meeting of the taskforce concerned in line with the demand of stakeholders, including the Leather Goods and Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB), which was presided over by Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun.

Saiful Islam in the meeting even as a high official of the Ministry of Industries, reportedly, underlined the move has been taken following requests of the stakeholders concerned even as the Government is considering to help the traders concerned by setting up the storage for preserving rawhides.
