
During the first two months of 2017, India registered surge in its legwear export to the US, both in values and volumes. China too gained positive growth in the same category.
On Y-o-Y basis, India registered hike in values by 29 per cent to US $ 2.51 million, while volumes too gained by 45.81 per cent to 414,125 Dozen Pairs. China, on the other hand, was up by 2.09 per cent in value terms to US $ 193.41 million, whereas volume-wise the country was up by 12.86 per cent to 38,990,092 Dozen Pairs as against the same period last year.

Overall, the US fell value-wise in legwear imports by 4.27 per cent to settle at US $ 304.53 million in 2017 as against US $ 318.11 million in the same period last year. However, the country was up in the volume-wise import and recorded marginal boost of 1.03 per cent to 55,617,361 Dozen Pairs year-on-year.
