Bangladesh has sought support from Italy for the continuation of GSP facility for six more years after LDC graduation.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi reportedly sought the same during his recent meeting with Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Enrico Nunziata in Dhaka.
It may be mentioned here currently Bangladesh enjoys GSP facilities in its exports to European countries including Italy, which it would enjoy for three more years after 2026 when Bangladesh will graduate from the current status of a Least Developed Country (LDC) even as the country (Bangladesh) is negotiating with different countries to continue the GSP facilities for six more years after the LDC graduation.
