Notwithstanding Bangladesh joining the group of developing nations soon, Bangladesh Government has decided to provide exporters with the existing cash incentives and subsidies, but under different names after the LDC transition.
Media reports maintained this adding the Government has decided to do so to help the exporters maintain their competitive edge in the global market even after the graduation.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Vice-President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Shahidullah Azim, reportedly, maintained more than incentives what Bangladesh needs are free trade agreements (FTAs) with different countries, so as to effectively address the graduation challenges.
“….Vietnam has increased their export capacity through FTAs, we should follow suit,” reportedly, added the Vice President of the apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh.
