Even if Bangladesh is all set to join the big league of developing nations in 2026, experts and economists have highlighted the need to boost regional trade to cope with the post transition challenges while adding the Government along with the private sector needs to concentrate on the same.
They also recommended reducing the cost of business and developing transport infrastructure to cope with possible challenges that would stem from the losses of duty-free facilities and other international support measures in the post transition period.
They came up with observations at a recent event organised by the Development Journalist Forum of Bangladesh (DJFB) in capital Dhaka to mark 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence.
Presenting the keynote paper at the event, distinguished fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, reportedly, said the post-LDC challenges would be more difficult to overcome as provision of concessional loan is reducing as Bangladesh graduated to a lower-middle income status.
