The contribution of knitwear sub-sector in Bangladesh’s readymade garment (RMG) export earnings is gradually increasing over the years even if it emerged the top foreign currency earner in FY ’22.

Industry people, reportedly, attributed this growth to the strong backward linkage, Government’s policy support, capacity to make quick delivery, amongst others.
Speaking to media, knitwear exporters, reportedly, claimed Government’s policy supports (cash incentive and utility) have helped the entrepreneurs to invest in the sub-sector including in backward linkage (yarn, fabric and dying).
