The country’s exports to the US increased by 0.86 per cent to US $ 2.02 billion from US $ 2.05 billion in the corresponding period last year. Even after the eight months, Indian exports to the US are rising, albeit with decreased pace, at 0.06 per cent versus prior year.
For the first six months, Indian exports to the EU were also up 0.88 per cent to Euro 2.91 billion as against Euro 2.89 billion in the same period last year. While the growth in the woven segment was up 1.13 per cent, the knitted segment increased by 0.60 per cent in the period under review.

The value of Indian apparel exports to Canada in the first half of this year was up 4.81 per cent over the same period last year. Also, for first eight months of the current year, the country’s value of apparel exports registered the growth rate of 4.25 per cent as against the same period in fiscal 2015.
