
India-Bangladesh joint venture company Progress Apparels (Bangladesh) will invest US $ 6.66 million to set up a readymade garments industry at Iswhardi Export Processing Zone with an annual production capacity of 9.76 million pieces of shirts and pants, besides creating employment opportunities for around 2,264 Bangladeshi nationals. Sayed Nurul Islam, Member (Investment Promotion) of Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Managing Director of Progress Apparels (Bangladesh) Muhammad Shahed Mahmud, signed the deal on behalf of their respective organizations attended by Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, Executive Chairman, Md. Mosaddeque Ali, Member (Engineering), Md. Shawkat Nabi, Secretary, Mrs. Nazma Binte Alamgir, General manager (Public Relations) and Ahsan Kabir, General Manager (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA.
