The Government of Bangladesh is all set to organise textile service week from 6 December.
As part of this, the Department of Textiles (DoT), which comes under the Ministry of Textiles and Jute (MoTJ), is conducting the event at its office in capital Dhaka.
The Ministry of Textiles and Jute in a press release issued in this direction on 3 December (Thursday) called upon all stakeholders in the sector to receive the services during the service week while maintaining that the DoT will provide services to businesses involved in the sector within 24 hours to 72 hours during the week.
The services that are to be offered during the upcoming service week including facilitating clearance of imported textile machinery, recommending to issuance of import permit, correcting the ownership name, etc., will reportedly continue till 15 December.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, a high-rung official of Ministry of Textiles and Jute underlined that the ministry was working very seriously with trade bodies like the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) and other stakeholders to achieve the target of US $ 50 billion export from the textile sector in 2021 while adding that the upcoming textile service week will help strengthen Bangladesh’s textile sector.
