
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has urged the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to simplify and expedite its services for the readymade garment industry.
In a meeting with NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan emphasised the importance of cooperation and essential support to enhance the competitiveness of the RMG industry on the global stage.
Faruque Hassan, in a press statement, highlighted the complexities in the current business climate, which often result in delays and additional costs, significantly impacting trade operations.
He urged the NBR to streamline procedures and expedite service delivery to the RMG industry, specifically addressing issues related to customs, VAT, tax, and bonds crucial for supporting the growth of the apparel and textile sector.
The BGMEA president underscored the critical role of the NBR’s prompt and hassle-free services in sustaining the RMG industry.
