Global babieswear imports by the European Union (EU) witnessed downfall in volumes during the month of January 2017. Though EU recorded boost in value-wise imports during the period. India and Bangladesh were up both in value and volume terms in babieswear exports to EU.
In January, EU’s import fell by 1.32 per cent volume-wise, whereas it rose by 7.47 per cent in values on Y-o-Y basis. Continuing the positive trend from December 2016, India noted hike in its babieswear exports to EU in January 2017 too. Values of exports surged by 8.55 per cent while volumes rose by 4.26 per cent from a year earlier.

Bangladesh too noted massive gains as the values were up by 20.29 per cent while quantity jumped by 10.70 per cent on Year-on-Year basis. However, China could not capitalize during the review period and the country noted a downfall of 3.01 per cent in babieswear exports value and 11.72 per cent in volumes.
