Bangladesh’s Export Promotion Bureau or EPB is all set to organise an online fair in October — the week-long virtual fair, titled ‘Sourcing Bangladesh 2021’, will be held from 18 October to 24 October and is aimed at attracting buyers from North America, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa — to promote locally made goods at the global level and subsequently increase the country’s (Bangladesh’s) export earnings.
According to reports, the EPB has maintained that exhibitions and international trade fairs of different countries remained closed due to the coronavirus pandemic and in such a situation, online fairs are being organised to display ‘Made in Bangladesh’ products for foreign buyers even as the Bangladeshi exporters will display 10 products, including readymade garments, jute goods and leather items, at the said event, while participating companies will be given virtual booths, through which they will be able to display 3D images of their products as well as audio-visual content.
Meanwhile, interacting with the media, Vice-Chairman and CEO of the EPB, AHM Ahsan, maintained, “This fair is going to be organised for the first time in Bangladesh,” even as he added renowned exporters in the country will participate in the same.
