
In a momentous development, Bhola, the southern island district, has initiated the distribution of extracted gas to Dhaka.
The inauguration of Bhola’s CNG supply, officiated by State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid recently, unfolded at a Dhaka-based hotel.
The gas undergoes conversion into Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and is transported in cylinders to various factories, signalling the official commencement of supply.
Intraco, a private company, spearheads the groundbreaking Bhola gas supply initiative.
Company Secretary Salauddin confirmed to the media that the inaugural delivery was successfully made to a textile factory in Gazipur.
Each cylinder, transported by dedicated trucks, accommodates 3,500 cubic meters of gas and is competitively priced at Taka 47.60 per cubic meter, offering industries a more cost-effective alternative.
