The Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) announced recently that Mohammad Ali Khokon, the president of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association, met on 19th May with Bakhromjon A’loyev, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Uzbekistan, following an invitation from the Uzbekistan government. The two discussed ways to expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, with a special focus on the textile industry. They also discussed ways to increase investment opportunities in the Bangladeshi textile sector. Both parties agreed to further explore potential collaborations.
The meeting between the BTMA president and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan took place in a hotel. During their discussion, the BTMA president highlighted a communication sent by the BTMA subsequent to a delegation from Bangladesh’s visit to Uzbekistan.
During his visit to Uzbekistan, Mohammed Ali expressed his urge to the Deputy Minister there that the Uzbek government consider investing in the economic zones and IT parks of Bangladesh.
