Underlining that Bangladesh and India do not compete with each other in the global market when it comes to apparel exports, rather complement each other, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan opined when Bangladesh gains from apparel exports, India also gains as many of the inputs and other accessories required by the Bangladesh garment makers come from India.
The BGMEA chair reportedly said this recently while addressing a views exchange meeting with the representatives from the Overseas Correspondents Association Bangladesh (OCAB), as per reports.
Faruque Hassan further reportedly underlined that Bangladesh mostly manufactures basic products, and it does not clash with the apparel offerings from India in the global market even as he added Bangladesh was also increasing its apparel exports to India as well.
