President of Bangladesh’s apex garment makers’ body the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has opined Bangladesh and Australia have massive potential to further enhance mutual trade by further deepening mutual cooperation and collaboration.
This is as per media reports, which underlined the BGMEA chair made this observation during his recent meeting with Foreign Affairs of the Assistant Minister of Australian Government Tim Watts in Dhaka.
During the meeting, amongst others, were present Australian High Commissioner in Dhaka Jeremy Bruer; Director, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives Section at Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Brendan Hodgson; Adviser, office of the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Louisa Bochner; and Assistant Secretary, Indian Ocean and South Asia Regional Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Megan Jones.
Taking part in the discussion in the said meeting, the BGMEA President reportedly maintained that trade between Bangladesh and Australia had grown considerably over the past few years even as he went on to add more opportunities still lie ahead, which could benefit them both.
