The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is gearing up for its biennial election for the term 2024-26, scheduled to take place on 9th March, 2024.
The election board of BGMEA announced the election schedule, outlining the process to elect 35 directors for the trade body.
As per the schedule, preliminary voter lists are slated for publication on 18th January 2024, with the final lists following on 30th January 2024.
To be eligible for participation, members’ units must settle subscription and other dues up to the year 2023 and adhere to the voter nomination process outlined in the election schedule.
To meet the requirements, members are required to clear subscription payments up to the year 2023, submit a bank deposit slip supporting the subscription payment, along with a copy of the updated (2022) income tax certificate/tax return receipt, complete with the proper seal and signature, and a valid trade license.
All necessary documents must be submitted by 5:00 pm on 9th January 2024.
The deadline for the submission of voter nominations is set for 5:00 pm on 13th January 2024.
