The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) election board has announced the schedule for the trade body’s biennial election as per which the election for the term 2021-23 would be held on 14 April.
According to media reports, the board announced the election schedule recently, further underlining that 25 February will be the last date for submitting nomination papers (by candidates) while 4 March will be the last date of candidature withdrawal.
As per the board, the polls for electing 35 Directors of BGMEA would, reportedly, be held at Hotel Radisson Blue and the regional office of BGMEA in Chittagong on 4 April.
The new board is expected to assume charges of the trade body on 20 April even as elections to elect the President, seven Vice-Presidents and office bearers would be held on 16 April.
