The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has urged an expedited enhancement of customs-related procedures, emphasising the swift clearance of export-import goods to boost the competitiveness of the readymade garment industry.
Led by President Faruque Hassan, a BGMEA delegation conveyed this message during a meeting with Mohammad Fyzur Rahman, Commissioner of Custom House, Chittagong.
The discussions revolved around addressing key concerns related to customs procedures affecting the RMG industry.
Faruque stressed the significance of reducing lead time in the global fashion market, emphasizing its pivotal role in maintaining competitiveness.
The BGMEA president called for immediate measures from Customs House to ensure smoother and faster services, particularly in export-import goods clearance.
The Customs Commissioner acknowledged the concerns raised by BGMEA leaders and assured necessary support from Customs House.
