
Acting President of the apex garment maker’s body of Bangladesh, BGMEA, has called for industry-academia collaboration, to successfully face the future challenges that the industry would face.
As per reports, Shahidullah Azim, while addressing a session titled ‘Towards a Meaningful Industry-Academia Partnership: A Talk on RMG sector’s impact on Bangladesh’s Rapid Growth and Future Prospects,’ organised by North South University (NSU) recently, reportedly, maintained partnerships between the industry and academia would be instrumental in research and knowledge while generating a qualified and competent workforce for the industry.
“The industry-academia linkage is important because our growth depends on our ability to move to diversified products which require complex skills,” reportedly, said the BGMEA acting President even as he added the job market has to be ready with the required skills to meet contemporary production techniques, product sophistication and fashion trend.
He further, reportedly, added the business dynamics have been rapidly changing in the fashion industry where the use of technology was increasing to meet the changing demand of consumers for diversified fashionable offerings.
