Jibin Technology (BD) Company Limited, a Chinese firm, has announced plans to establish a shoe accessory manufacturing unit in the BEPZA Economic Zone (EZ) with a substantial investment of US $ 6 million. In a significant development, Jibin Technology (BD) Company Limited signed an agreement with BEPZA at the BEPZA Complex, as stated in a press release issued.
Representing their respective organisations, Ali Reza Mazid, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Wu Xueli, Managing Director of Jibin Technology (BD) Company Limited, have inked the agreement by putting pen to paper.
Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, the Executive Chairman of BEPZA, attended the signing ceremony. Jibin Technology (BD) will manufacture a diverse range of shoe accessories with an annual capacity of 6 million pairs, including Outsole, Midsole, Injection Parts, Backstay, Heel Clip, Toe Cap, Sports Spike, EVA, PU Foam, and PU Component. The company aims to employ 195 individuals from Bangladesh initially.
BEPZA EZ, located on 1138.55-acre land in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar, Mirsharai, Chattogram, is BEPZA’s largest venture. It has signed lease agreements with 18 companies, including Jibin Technology (BD), to transform the zone into a thriving industrial enclave. These companies will collectively invest US $ 400 million to manufacture various products, including ready-made garments.
In addition to the mentioned individuals, the signing ceremony was attended by Mohammad Faruque Alam, Member (Engineering); Nafisa Banu, Member (Finance), Nazma Binte Alamgir, Executive Director (Public Relations); Mohammad Anamul Haque, Project Director of BEPZA EZ; and Md. Fazlul Haque Mazumder, Additional Executive Director (Investment Promotion).
