Bangladesh’s State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid, criticised textile mill owners for unplanned industrialisation saying entrepreneurs will have to relocate their factories in a planned manner to industrial zones. “Find industrial zones by negotiating with the Government and shift your factories to those areas; you will get uninterrupted gas and power supply. There is no alternative to an industrial zone. Don’t build factories like mushrooms,” Hamid said. The Minister made these remarks while addressing a delegation of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association led by its Chairman Tapan Chowdhury who called upon Hamid at his office with a set of demands including revising the gas tariff for captive power generation, uninterrupted power supply and new gas connections for industrial units.
