The garment accessories makers in Bangladesh have sought bonded warehouse facility from the Government even as they called upon the Government for assistance to upgrade to state-of-the-art facilities.
This is as per reports which added the Acting President of the Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) AKM Mostafa Selim, while addressing a press conference in capital Dhaka recently made these demands even as he called upon the Government to cut down the source tax on export of garment accessories and packages from current 1 per cent to to 0.5 per cent, for five consecutive years.
The BGAPMEA Acting President also reportedly urged the Government to ban the import of accessories and packaging materials in view of the country attaining self-sufficiency in the same while also calling for providing incentives on export receipts of garment accessories and packaging materials in the proposed budget for fiscal 2023-24, which would only help increase shipments from the sector he felt.
