Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has recently called upon the H&M Group — Hennes & Mauritz AB or H&M Group is a multinational clothing company based in Sweden — to keep supporting the readymade garment industry of Bangladesh so as to ensure its sustainable development.
According to a press release issued in this direction, the Commerce Minister made this call during his recent meeting with H&M Group CEO Helena Helmersson in Sweden to discuss issues of mutual interests, during which he was accompanied by the President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Faruque Hassan and Vice President Miran Ali.
The discussions reportedly focused on the challenges and opportunities of the garment industry of Bangladesh in the days to come and how the partnership could be strengthened further so as to drive the development of the apparel industry of Bangladesh sector in a more sustainable manner.
