In June 2023, the import cost of synthetic yarn per tonne (CIF, United Kingdom) stood at US $ 8,289, marking a slight decrease of 1.50 per cent compared to the previous month – as per INDEXBOX.
Throughout the period under examination, the import price exhibited a relatively stable trajectory. The most significant surge in prices occurred in August 2022, when there was a remarkable 26 per cent increase compared to the preceding month, reaching a peak of US $ 9,524 per tonne.
From September 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices maintained a slightly lower level. There were notable variations in average prices among the major countries supplying synthetic yarn.
In June 2023, Germany had the highest price at US $ 33,483 per tonne, while Indonesia had one of the lowest prices at US $ 2,686 per tonne.
Over the period spanning from June 2022 to June 2023, Spain recorded the most substantial price increase at 4.90 per cent. In contrast, other major suppliers experienced mixed price trends during this period.
