
The Apparel Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) is again looking for a new CEO as Dr. Vijay Kumar Yadav has resigned 5 months after taking charge as the council’s CEO in April 2024.
He was not available for comment while Dr. A Sakthivel former Chairman, AEPC who is the Chairman of AHMSSC told Apparel Resources that he had resigned due to personal reasons.
On the condition of anonymity, sources told Apparel Resources that among other sector skill councils, AMHSSC has the maximum turnover. In the last fiscal, it had a turnover of Rs. 100 crore through its skilling activities.
AMHSSC has been launched jointly by the Ministry of Textiles, National Skill Development Corporation and the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), with the primary mandate of enhancing and building a capacity in skill development.
One of the salient features of the AMHSSC is the designing of training programmes based on industry demands of different segments and to ensure that all successful trainees are certified through an accredited agency.
