Aman Atlantic, a Delhi based 14 years old buying house, having the credit of bringing Max Mara Group into India and experience of working with US giants like Walmart, JCPenney and Kohl’s, is now working mainly with catalogue buyers. To aid growth, the buying house has now opened its office in the US. “As of now the US, our main market, is still very slow and the growth people are expecting is not there, but it will pickup. To tap that prospective growth, we have recently opened our office ‘Aspirado Inc.’ in New York and hopefully it will give lot of new avenues for growth. With this office it will be easy for us to approach different types of buyers to bring more business for the country,” says Anshu Man, MD, Aman Atlantic. The office is being handled by Ayush M Gupta, VP, Business Development, and son of Anshu Man, who has recently joined the business and is also looking into the domestic retail business of the company.
A post-graduate in textile and clothing, Anshu Man has 35 years of industry exposure and feels that it is difficult to expand by sitting only in Delhi, so now with this new office they are doing very aggressive marketing to capture bigger business. “Nowadays customers want to source more directly, and procure those products which they were getting through local importers earlier,” says Anshu Man.
As the company is working majorly with catalogue buyers, the repeat orders continue sometimes even up to four years. Maximum order size of such buyers remains around 2,500 pieces which is a satisfactory order for medium-level factories, which is the mainstay of its vendors apart from a few big ones which do very high-end products. Associated with many online portals, the company is also going to start its own online sale for its brand ‘Meiro’ very soon.
