The Ministry of Textiles has approved setting up of 13 new textile parks, which will involve a minimum investment of Rs. 1 billion for the each. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Textiles, Santosh Kumar Gangwar said, “We will consider investment proposals of minimum Rs. 1 billion for the parks, and subsidy amount of Rs. 400 million each will be provided by the Ministry.” Such kind of parks will create employment opportunities for 2,500 to 3,000 people. There are 61 textile parks in India and Maharashtra is leading with 16 out of these. Some of the existing textile parks in various states have proved to be very good for the industry.
