Global recycled fibre brand, Unifi’s Repreve has launched a recycling educational tour as the next step of its ‘Repreve #TurnItGreen Movement’. The mobile tour will have several stoppages across the US to showcase how plastic bottles that are usually considered waste can be recycled to produce high-quality Repreve-based products. To carry out this tour, the company has partnered with Marvel Universe LIVE!, Detroit Lions, and UNC-Chapel Hill, with the first stop of the tour being San Francisco at The North Face Endurance Challenge presented by Gore-Tex.
Through the programme, the company basically aims to make the consumers aware that recycled bottles can be turned into products of daily usage. “We are thrilled to kick off our multi-stop #TurnItGreen mobile experience, engaging with kids and adults as we educate them on how we transform recycled plastic bottles into products they can purchase from their favourite brands,” said Roger Berrier, President and CEO of Unifi.
Repreve claims to have recycled more than 4 billion plastic bottles into quality products being used by people in everyday life since its inception and aims to increase the number through this tour. Companies like Sage, Renewtra, Polartec, SnapBox, and Volcom are sponsoring the tour and it will be led by Repreve-branded truck, which has its upholstery developed using Repreve-based recycled fibres made from 16 plastic bottles.

The national #TurnItGreen tour will make several stoppages at schools, retail locations, and major entertainment and sporting events, including Volcom action sport events. The students at schools will be taught the basics of recycling and bottle transformation-themed activities in class that reinforce what else a bottle can be developed into.
Repreve, Unifi’s brand of recycled fibres can be found in product ranges across apparel, automotive, and industrial application sectors, being used by brands like Quiksilver, Ford, Patagonia, and Haggar.
