Saadatia Sweaters Ltd., located in Ashulia, Dhaka, has recently been added to the prestigious list of LEED-certified factories in Bangladesh. The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) awarded it an impressive score of 91 in the Platinum category.
These additions bring Bangladesh’s total number of LEED-certified factories to 226, with 89 Platinum and 123 Gold-certified factories.
The factory was designed by Saadatia Sweaters to have adequate natural light, a natural air flow, and little heat. Approximately half of the space has been planted with plants and utilised for gardening. The Saadatia Sweaters have bought cutting-edge fire prevention and detection technology to guarantee appropriate safety.
Based on several factors, including waste management, energy, water, and transformation performance, USGBC awards factories. Platinum is awarded to the top performers, with gold and silver following.
As per the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Saadatia Sweaters recently completed a detailed review of the project certification and performance data and achieved the certification.
