
Surat, India’s leading textile hub, recently witnessed a horrifying incident as a retrenched worker and his associate murdered a textile factory owner, his father and uncle.
As per the police, the incident took place inside a factory in the Anjalir Industries area. Police have picked up two suspects including one juvenile.
The sad incident has created fury in Surat.
Harsh Sanghavi, Home Minister of Gujarat held a meeting with Surat Police officials in this regard.
Kumar Kanani, MLA, BJP has demanded that the police should keep check on history sheeters entering Surat in search of jobs.
Dinesh Navadia, President, The Southern Gujarat Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) has sought stern action against the accused and has promised to take up the issue with authorities for more protection of businessmen.
In September also, an apparel factory’s former worker had been booked for allegedly setting the godown of the factory on fire.

As per Harsad Mehta, Deputy Police Commissioner, Surat, Kalpesh Dholakia owned an embroidery unit, named Vedanta Texo.
The retrenched worker, whose services were terminated ten days ago, came to the factory along with his associate and had a heated argument with Kalpesh, which soon turned into a scuffle. During the fight, one of the two accused stabbed Dholakia with a knife.
Kalpesh’s father and uncle Ghanshyam Razodia, who too were present at the unit intervened, but they too were stabbed. The two then fled from the factory.
All three were rushed to a nearby hospital, but could not be saved.
As per another police official, the worker was terminated because of some mistakes that he had committed during his night duty hours which had damaged the production. It is being said that before terminating his services, his dues were paid.
