Pollution is a major challenge in Delhi-NCR and concerned departments are on their toes to control it.
In Pilkhuwa (Uttar Pradesh), officials of the UP Pollution Control Board have charged a fine of Rs. 1 lakh upon a textile unit and also sealed the same as it was using wood furnace which is prohibited.
As per reports, other textile units have been also inspected by the officials and a few of the units have remained closed to avoid investigation.
The officials have said that they will continue their action against polluting units.
Pilkhuwa is almost 20 kilometres away from Ghaziabad and it has textile units involved in dyeing and processing that mainly cater to the domestic market.
