To reduce the amount of materials disposed of through landfills or incineration, Material Exchange has created the ‘Deadstock Depot’ service, which enables brands to utilise surplus materials inside the supply chain.
The ‘Deadstock Depot‘, launched by Material Exchange, aims to address the urgent problem of waste in the fashion industry and advance a more circular and sustainable approach.
Brands can lessen their environmental impact by obtaining materials more promptly and at a lower cost than acquiring new fabrics. Suppliers can simultaneously turn what was once thought of as waste into a revenue source.
“The Deadstock Depot makes it easy for brands to find deadstock materials and take advantage of the many benefits they bring,” said Ben Felton, Material Exchange’s chief strategy officer.
Suppliers who sign up for the Deadstock Depot platform benefit from having their deadstock fabrics digitised and sold both online and at live events. Brands looking for deadstock materials have a large selection to choose from, along with high-quality graphics, comprehensive attribute information, Fabric Detail Sheets, Internal Test Reports, and the option to request samples.
The Deadstock Depot serves as a global marketplace where brands can access these unused fabrics and integrate them into their upcoming collections.
