A massive blaze destroyed Texhong Yinlong factory in Hai Yen Industrial Park in the province of Quang Ninh (Vietnam) on 4 April 2018.
Though there were extensive property damages, the exact figures are yet to be assessed. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
The fire started from a warehouse storing cotton and fabric materials, which are extremely inflammable.
The Quang Ninh province sent 45 firefighters and 4 engines to douse the massive inferno. Similarly, 90 firefighters and 10 fire engines were sent from the cities of Halong and Cam Pha, to help control the fire.
The blaze that lasted for over 15 hours devastated the cotton and fabric materials worth 5,000 tonnes.
The cause of the mishap is still under investigation.
Any dispute on Texhong Yinlong’s compliance has been vehemently denied by Nguyen Manh Tuan, Director, Quang Ninh’s Economic Zone Management.
He said that the factory has complied with fire safety regulations and has a team of professional firefighters that includes 23 people.
It is worth noting that according to factory’s 2017 report, the group’s main production units contained around 1,283 looms and 3.03 million spindles. Of these, about 1.78 million spindles were in China and 1.25 million in Vietnam.
