Discount retailer Lidl has committed itself to shun out all the harmful chemicals from its textile products by 2020. As per the release from the company, Lidl is aware of its responsibility for people and the environment. It is its priority to eliminate their use across Lidl’s supply chain and operations for all footwear and apparel. The retailer is now a part of Greenpeace’s Detox Campaign which is already supported by brands like Adidas, Burberry, C&A, H&M, Nike and Zara. Lidl is a Germany based global discount supermarket chain that operates over 10,000 stores across Europe. The company did over € 48 billion business last year and employs around 315,000 people.
