In its continual commitment to sustainability and innovation, Levi Strauss & Co. has now joined Fashion for Good.
While making the official announcement of the partnership, Katrin Ley, MD, Fashion for Good, said that Fashion for Good is incredibly proud to welcome Levi Strauss & Co. as its corporate partner and is excited to collaborate together, further helping them in executing and achieving their ambitions towards affecting positive change in the fashion industry.
Katrin further added that Levi Strauss & Co.’s wide range of sustainable solutions in raw materials, dyeing and finishing – along their supply chain – is enough to justify the company’s commitment to sustainability.
In a statement released to media, Levi Strauss & Co. said that it can’t work alone if it has to do its part to deliver solutions on an industry-wide scale or reach its ambitious goals and that’s the precise reason why it has joined Fashion for Good.
Proud to be a part of Fashion for Good, Jeffrey Hogue, Chief Sustainability Officer, Levi Strauss & Co., averred “Fashion for Good is the only circular innovation platform in the industry founded on the principles of collaboration and scale.”
He further added that Levi Strauss & Co. plans to leverage Fashion for Good’s expertise and network to create pilots to address the most pressing sustainability issues company’s value chain faces.
The focus will be on collaborative projects so as to address the challenges of plastics; sorting technologies for recycling garments; fibre transparency and traceability; and the potential of shifting from wet to dry fabric and garment finishing processes.
Based in Amsterdam, Fashion for Good is a global platform for innovation, made possible through collaboration and community, convening brands, retailers, suppliers, non-profit organisations, innovators and funders to make all fashion good.
