Lee has collaborated with AppHarvest, the agricultural tech company, to be the exclusive denim provider for the company’s employees at its new high-tech greenhouse in Appalachia.
The announcement came into light with the launch of AppHarvest’s new 60-acre controlled environment agriculture facility in Morehead, Kentucky.
The organisation chooses Lee for its longtime commitment to sustainability and initiatives in sustainable apparel.
The brand’s Indigood organic cotton denim utilises a foam dyeing process that uses no water, 89 per cent fewer chemicals and 65 per cent less energy.
Notably, Lee plans to increase Indigood dyed products every year through 2025.
Furthermore, its other global sustainability goals include the use of renewable energy in all its owned and operated facilities, use of 100 per cent sustainably grown or recycled cotton and leveraging more than 50 per cent of its sustainable synthetics all by 2025.
