Following the price rise of daily necessities, labour leaders have sought food ration facilities for RMG workers from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
They, reportedly, made this demand during a recent meeting with the BGMEA leaders underlining factory owners should provide daily commodities including rice, pulses and cooking oil to garment workers at low prices.
“…prices of daily essentials have increased a lot recently. We have told garment factory owners that workers should be given rations of daily necessities,” reportedly, said President of the Bangladesh National Garments Workers Federation, Sirajul Islam Roni, speaking to the media, who was present at the meeting with the BGMEA officials.
The President of the garment makers’ body, Faruque Hassan, reportedly, presided over the meeting.
